A Hebron man was convicted today of drunken driving and second-degree manslaughter for causing a crash on Route 85 that killed a man headed to work in Hartford.
Robert H. Furbush, 58, of Crouch Road in the Amston section of town, was found guilty by Rockville Superior Court Judge Carl J. Schuman after a seven-day non-jury trial.
Tolland State’s Attorney Matthew C. Gedansky proved to Schuman that Furbush was drunk and drove his 2002 Ford F-250 pickup across the centerline and slammed into a 1989 Dodge Dynasty driven by George Koch, 60, of Lebanon. Furbush’s pickup truck rode up onto Koch’s car, then continued on, eventually rolling onto its side.
