Attorney James Sabatini secured a $175,000.00 judgment for his client in a dog attack case. The unleashed dog knocked the client off her bicycle causing multiple injuries including a knee injury that required surgical repair. The dog did not bite our client. Under Connecticut law, dog owners are required to keep their dogs under control in public areas. If a dog is not under proper control in a public space such as a street, park or sidewalk and the dog causes injury to a person (who is not tormenting or abusing the dog), the owner or keeper of the dog is responsible for the person’s injuries.
