Connecticut inspectors on Monday, September?17,?stopped 110 trucks and found 375 mechanical violations and 139 driver violations. They pulled 38 vehicles out of service and handed out more than $23,000 in fines. The biggest fine was a $13,536 ticket for an oversized vehicle stopped on Route 25 in Monroe. Inspectors found the rig did not have a required permit.? The inspections and fines was in response to the truck accident on Avon Mountain last week that resulted in multiple people being injured and the truck crashing into a furniture store.
